National Park Annual Report
Student Assignment
Overview
As a student assignment in December 2019, I was tasked with creating a digital annual report. I chose a bold and visually engaging concept to capture attention while ensuring effortless navigation for users.
The Solution
Throughout the user interface design, I developed a green and blue color scheme to mimic landscapes and water features of national parks. To enhance visual interest, I incorporated subtle animations that bring the design to life.
This work is featured on the PCT Graphic Design Website.
Deliverables
A digital annual report that includes given content, created in Adobe XD.
Information Architecture
Given the pre-supplied content for the assignment, I broke down the information into logical groups and sections. From there, I created a visual graphic to map the functionality of the website, ensuring an intuitive user experience.
Wireframes and Design Sketches
For this project, I combined wireframes with sketches. I don’t use this method often, but I believe this was the most effective approach for this project. This flexibility demonstrates how adapting to the project’s needs can lead to successful results.
Design
To streamline the design process, I “sectioned off” different areas of my design in Adobe XD. This technique allowed for quick and easy navigation from one artboard to the next.
Prototype
All of the artboards are prototyped to showcase functionality; the image shows just one of them. I utilized new features in Adobe XD including hover effects and components.
